Wednesday...

The kids were all so excited to be back and had a great time playing with all their toys! My brother came back with us and he's staying with us for a week and we're all really enjoying his company! Right before we left on our trip, I was in Target, and they had a bunch of toys on clearance. I saw Magic Dough there that was .50 a package and bought a few not knowing what it really was.
It's pretty crumbly so it makes a bit of a mess on the floor, but it was definitely worth a dollar! They had a great time playing with it!
In the afternoon we went to a park, and a great time was had by all!

By the time we were ready to leave, we were all sweaty from running around and having races I decided to go on a special mystery ride!
Slurpees! The girls have never had it before, and they were convinced they were eating ice cream! Either way it was a cool and yummy treat!
What a fun day!

We're Back!

Hi everyone! We're finally back from our vacation! B"H we had a great time spending time with all our grandparents aunts and uncles! Here are a few pictures from our trip...

Now... back to work!

Hi everyone! Sorry for not updating recently... We're actually out of town for the next two weeks and B"H we're having a great time! So far while we've been here we went to two parks and to the library. The kids are having a great time playing outside all day with their uncles! Pictures coming soon!

Thursday!

Today we woke up to another rainy day! The girls were really excited when I told them it was time for a project! I printed on the computer the girls' names as big as possible on the computer. We then went down to the basement. Sima traced her letters with glue, while I helped Mushka with hers. They then took packing peanuts we had recently gotten in the mail and glued it on to their names.
I have to be honest, it didn't really work out the way I imagined it too, but it doesn't really matter. The girls had fun going over the letters in their names, gluing on the peanuts and playing with them, and that's what counts!
After lunch, the girls played outside and went bike riding with Tatty. Yay! It's so much fun having him home now that he has vacation!
What a fun day!

Wednesday

Well, I checked the weather this morning and it was supposed to be thunderstorms all afternoon. We can't have a day without playing outside, so right after we finished davening we went outside, Sima got on her bike and we biked to the local park. I never did this before as I wasn't sure Sima would make it all the way there and back, however, since today Tatty was home I figured worse comes to worse he can always pick us up. No worries though, she did great!
We had a great time at the park on the swings and on the slides! Sima had a great time running from swing to swing first pushing Mushka then Shmulik then back to Mushka!
After lunch, we had a bunch of errands to do and then the girls helped me make pizza again for supper! (they were so excited they got to have pizza on a Wednesday!) And, what do you know? It never even rained!
What a fun day!

Tuesday!

I've been waiting all summer to be able to take the kids berry picking. Today was a beautiful day, not too hot, and now is prime season for blueberries so I packed up a picnic lunch and some snacks and  off we went!
In the car I told the girls that if its blue its ready, if its green its not and they had it all drilled. When we got to the farm however, it was all blue! Yum!! Everyone had a great time picking all the blueberries and putting it in their pails.

The blueberries were amazing and they're basically all finished. Next time we'll have to pick way more! After lunch we went to check out some animals that they had on the farm.
What a fun day!

We're back!

Hi everyone! Sorry I haven't posted in a while we've been super busy! We had lots of guests since last Thursday. We all really enjoyed having them over and now that they left we can continue our regular schedule. Not to say though that we didn't do anything while they were here. We baked, biked, went to a state park, visited some animals, played with bubbles and even gave our car a car wash! I got pictures of some of it but not all...

Wednesday!

Yay! After all this heat, boy were we excited for rain! The girls were so excited to put on their boots and play in the rain. (They didn't need raincoats because it wasn't raining heavily and it was nice to get wet!) They splashed in the puddles, filled up buckets and had fun pouring the water everywhere.

In the afternoon while I was doing lots of laundry, getting ready for the nine days, Sima ran a circle time for Mushka and Shmulik. B"h they both behaved nicely!
We then took a walk to go see them plant trees around the new yeshiva. Sima has been finding it fascinating watching them build the building from beginning to end. When we first moved here there was nothing there, and now it's basically finished!
What a fun day!

Tuesday!

Today was hot, real hot, way too hot to go outside. I heard about a place where they sell playground equipment and trampolines, and for a small fee they let you come in and play in their showroom. Fun and air-conditioned! The girls had a great time playing on the swings and slides, but especially loved the trampolines! It was quite hard to get them off to go home...

When we came home, Sima right away asked if we could play with the "funny stuff we made yesterday". Sima really enjoyed shaping the slime into different shapes and even made a samach for Sima!
We had lots of blueberries so we ended off our day making blueberry muffins. Yum!
What a fun day!

Monday!

I'm starting to think maybe there is such a thing as global warming... This summer has been so hot! Today's weather was in the 90's again. We haven't been to the sprinkler park in a while and today was the perfect day! We brought along one of Sima's friends and all the girls loved it! I wish I had pictures, but I mistakenly forgot my camera... Today was the first time that Mushka ran in the sprinklers all by herself! She was loving every minute. We then had a picnic lunch at the park and played on the swings and slide.
When we came home we were all pretty exhausted. After relaxing a bit, we made a 'project'.
We poured a bottle of glue into a bowl.
We then filled up the glue bottle with water and added it to the bowl.
I added two drops of food coloring to the glue mixture for color and they mixed it together.
We then added a teaspoon of Borax to some water to dissolve it
and mixed it up to get...
Slime!! Sima and Mushka were a bit confused at first with what exactly it was, but then they had a great time playing with it. At Sima's request we even saved it in the fridge to play with again tomorrow!
What a fun day!

Sunday!

Another week has begun! We ended up spending most of the morning just hanging out outside in the front. Between the bikes, chalk and the dirt the girls were set! I practiced with Sima writing numbers with chalk outside. She was so excited when she mastered (well, close enough!) writing a 2, she covered the sidewalk with 2's!
After lunch, Tatty came home and he was off for the rest of the afternoon. Yay! We decided to go on a family trip to the park. We packed up some challah and headed off to the "Duck Park".
When we went to the pond we had a special treat, we got to see all the baby ducks!

And of course we gave them lots of challah to eat...
We then headed over to the playground. Sima and Mushka had a ball going on the slides and being pushed on the swings by Tatty!
What a fun day!

Thursday

This morning, we took one of Sima's friends with us to go... swimming! We haven't gone in a while, but the kids love it! I should really look into getting swimming lessons for Sima. Now that I know she's not afraid of water, I'd love for her to really know how to swim... (sorry the pics were censored for tznius reasons ;-) )
In the afternoon we went for a walk to go check out the new tractors by Yeshiva and we did our regular route, but this time Sima biked. She kept pointing out every person we passed on a bike who wasn't wearing a helmet saying,"They're going to get a big boo boo because they're not wearing a helmet!" One boy actually overheard and turned around to get his. Go Sima!
When we came home the girls helped me make pizza for supper. Yum!
What a fun day!

Wednesday

This morning we went on a special trip! Right after breakfast, we headed out to the car to Pump it Up! We went with some friends, and the kids had a grand time! It was hard to get pictures of them jumping with my phone but I tried...

When we came home, we had lunch and it was time for a project! I wasn't sure exactly what to do, but then Sima asked if we could paint. Perfect!
I got some old wrapping paper (that came with the house) and unrolled it onto the sidewalk outside.
I then went around the house collecting different materials the kids could paint with. I came up with toothbrushes, q-tips, cotton balls and roller paint brushes I picked up a while ago in the dollar store.
I put out paint on paper plates and the girls got their aprons. What a blast! They loved mixing the colors and trying out all the different materials!

Our masterpiece!
What a fun day!

Tuesday!

Well, remember those cans we painted over here? It was high time we finished it! Sima kept asking me every day what were going to do to with the cans, but in the heat it was a no go. Today though was a beautiful day and so...
First we went to the back yard and dug some dirt and filled up the cans.
Then, we got some grass seed and poured it on top.
We then got a cup of water and watered it generously...
Let's hope that it'll actually grow! I'm sure they're going to be watered and checked on very faithfully!

Sima's been getting very good at riding her bike, so I decided to go to a walking trail nearby. In the middle of the trail there's a nice playground that no one really knows about since you can't see it from the street so it is always empty. We packed up the car and headed over. Sima was so excited that she was biking just like many 'big people' we passed biking on the path. Mushka ran along with her and they had a great time getting there as well as playing in the playground.

What a fun day!

Monday!

I was looking around online for some interesting parks and I saw one of the metroparks just did over their playground. I figured we might as well go check it out! I packed up a picnic lunch and we headed out. It was a bit far, but the kids had a great time.
When we got there we first sat near the water and enjoyed our lunch.
We then headed over to check out out the playground. It was quite big with many different slides and a giant spiderweb in the middle. They also had under each pole various musical instruments that Mushka really enjoyed.

Then we went for a walk by the water and parked ourselves on the sand near the beach. I hadn't realized that there was a beach or I would've brought a change of clothes for them to be able to go in. I did though have some sand toys so the girls had fun digging in the sand and getting their feet wet.

What a fun day!

Sunday!

Phew! It finally cooled down today! It's been so super hot the past few days it was such a relief that today was only in the 80's. In the morning the girls were playing 'house'. It was really cute watching Sima put Mushka to sleep and read her a bedtime story.

We then went outside to play and Sima and Mushka had a great time playing outside on their bikes and run around outside.
In the afternoon the girls helped me make blueberry muffins for Tatty to break his fast on. It was a close call to where most of the blueberries went, to their mouths or to the measuring cup...

What a fun day!
